The external towers carry the upper spectator ring and the roof structure. The San Siro stadium is one of the largest in Europe and can accommodate around 83,000 spectators covered seats.

1927, the stadium was built on request of the President of AC Milan, Piero Pirelli.
Multiple modifications and extensions followed: 1939, the curves of the first Ring were built, 1955 the second Ring and 1990 in occasion of the World Cup the 3rd Ring were built and attached a roof structure.
The circumscribing towers of the stadium carry the 3rd ring and the roof structure and serve as staircase to the upper rings.
The stadium has 78,328 seats (including 244 for disabled) in 3 horizontal rings, which are divided into 4 zones. The long sides are colored red (western sector - tribune and the press) and orange (eastern sector), the curves are blue (south curve - Milan fan curve) and green (north curve - fan curve Inter).
In 1980 the stadium was dedicated to the greatest Italian footballer Giuseppe Meazza.

By underground, tram and bus
- M5 (purple underground line) station SAN SIRO STADIUM
- tram n 16 from piazza Fontana in direction SAN SIRO, last stop Piazzale Axum
- bus n 49 from Piazza Tirana in direction LOTTO, stop via Harar
- On the days of the football matches usually there is a shuttle service from Piazzale Lotto (station of the MM1-red underground line)
By car:
- From Bologna, Florence, Rome (highway A1 ) get the Western ring road (Tangenziale Ovest), until the junction with the state road 11 (Statale 11) you will reach the stadium directly.
- From Turin (Torino) ( highway A4 ): after the city barrier follow the signs to Venice (Venezia) until you see the junction Milano Certosa get off the highway there and follow the signs Stadium San Siro.
- From Bergamo, Verona, Venice, (highway A4): after the Eastern city barrier (Milano Est) follow the signs in the direction of Turin (Torino) until you reach the junction Milano Certosa get off the highway there and follow the signs Stadium San Siro.
- From Como, Lake Maggiore, Switzerland (highway A8 - A9): after the city barrier follow the road until the sign Milano Certosa and follow the signs Stadium San Siro.

By train:
From Central Station (Milano Centrale) - Porta Garibaldi Station and Lambrate Station
take the underground line MM2 (green line) in direction Famagosta, get out at Cadorna FN station and change into the underground line 5 (purple line) and get out at San Siro station.
