The early Christian church of San Simpliciano was built by the holy Bishop Ambrose in the 4th century and completed by his successor, the Holy Simplician, who was also buried here. It is a of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Milan.
Over the centuries, the church has been modified in numerous restorations. There are conserved the central portal and campanile from the 12 Century.
